Dr Teoh Ming Keng (MB ChB., FRCS., CLM., M Sc), our countryman, is currently the International Medical Legal Adviser of Medical Protection Society (MPS), London. He was trained in Bristol, England and was a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with the British National Health Scheme (NHS). He was also an Associate Professor at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1987-92), and the Director of Vascular Surgery Service at the Singapore General Hospital (1994-2003). He holds a M Sc on Health Management from the Imperial College, London. He joined MPS in 2004.
Advances in medical science have resulted in a better quality of life and longer life expectancy. This expectancy can generate great anger when the medical practitioner fails to deliver a good medical outcome. Negligent medical care resulting in injury to a person should be reasonably compensated. Dr Teoh will enlighten us on how a medical mishap is optimally resolved.
